Tasting Note
Cannonau is the Sardinian name for Grenache, the famed, warmth-loving grape of Southern France. This version shows delicious strawberry, raspberry, mincemeat and chocolate notes. Robust, generous and mouthfilling with fleshy tannins, it’s a tasty choice for anchovy pizza or pulled-pork sammies. (VINTAGES panel, Jan. 2013)

Intriguing, earthy, spicy, minty-herbal notes, dried red and black fruit and brown spice make this an intriguing and complex wine to be sure. The palate is mid-weight, still firm and dusty with no concessions to polished modern winemaking or international markets. More old wood, pot pourri and dried fruit flavours emerge on the palate. Very good length. A wine from the old testament, but one with an interesting story to tell to all open and intrepid drinkers. Tasted October 2013.  Score – 89
